چکیده

In this study, we model and analyze an wireless sensor network. First, we develop an analytic model for the homogeneous network where all nodes in the network have the same traffic characteristic. For our model, we assume a sensor network with star topology which is operated using the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol with ACK mode. From our analytical model we derive performance metrics such as throughput, mean service time of a packet, transmission success probability of an arbitrary packet, transmission failure (due to collision) probability of an arbitrary packet and CCA failure probability. Using our analytic model for the homogeneous sensor network, we also develop an analytic model for the non-homogeneous network where a tagged node called cluster header node in the network has different traffic characteristic than the other nodes called normal nodes.

Performance Modeling and Analysis of IEEE 802.15.4 slotted CSMA/CA protocol with ACK mode

In this paper, we propose an analytic model to analyze a wireless sensor network (WSN) operating the IEEE 802.15.4 slotted CSMA/CA protocol with ACK mode. Based on the renewal approximation, we first develop an analytic model for a homogeneous WSN where all nodes in the network have the same traffic characteristic. Using our analytical model, we obtain performance metrics such as network throug...

Connectivity-Based Reliable Multicast MAC Protocol for IEEE 802.11 Wireless LANs

We propose the efficient reliable multicast MAC protocol based on the connectivity information among the recipients. Enhancing the BMMM (Batch Mode Multicast MAC) protocol, the reliable multicast MAC protocol significantly reduces the RAK (Request for ACK) frame transmissions in a reasonable computational time and enhances the MAC performance. By the analytical performance analysis, the through...
